SCADA Project Engineer | Utility Scale Solar
Remote – U.S. | Up to 15% Travel
$110,000–$125,000 Base Salary
I'm working with a growing renewable energy company that's hiring a SCADA Project Engineer to support its expanding pipeline of large-scale energy projects.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role suited to someone who thrives on technical ownership, guiding a project's engineering side from concept through startup. You'll act as the go-to technical resource connecting customers, project leadership, SCADA engineering, and field crews, making sure everything from design docs to final deliverables holds up to scrutiny and stays on schedule.
Core responsibilities:
- Drive technical delivery of SCADA and controls systems across the full project lifecycle, from concept through startup and handover.
- Act as the go-to engineering contact for clients, fielding technical questions as projects progress.
- Work closely with SCADA engineers, project leads, startup/commissioning crews, and other technical partners.
- Help build and review system architecture, technical documentation, equipment layouts, and field wiring diagrams.
- Vet drawings, design packages, quality documentation, and other materials headed to clients before they go out.
- Keep project records accurate, thorough, and aligned with what clients actually need.
- Join client check-ins to report on progress, flag risks, and walk through open items.
- Monitor engineering milestones and help keep deliverables on pace with the broader project schedule.
- Help diagnose and resolve technical snags that pop up during buildout and startup.
- Stay accountable for technical quality across a rotating slate of active projects.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Utility-scale solar/PV experience highly preferred, with an understanding of how projects move from design through commissioning.
- Background in SCADA, plant monitoring, industrial controls, or energy management platforms.
- Solid grasp of SCADA architecture, field hardware, communication networks, and related technical paperwork.
- Comfortable reading and evaluating electrical/controls drawings and system schematics.
- Track record supporting projects from design through buildout and startup.
- Strong sense of ownership and the ability to coordinate across engineering disciplines.
- Confident working directly with clients, contractors, and outside partners.
- Solid writing and documentation habits.
- Able to juggle multiple live projects and prioritize on the fly.
This isn't a traditional PM role. The client wants someone who can dig into the technical weeds, review the actual engineering output, field client questions with authority, and own the final quality of the solution.
Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates (H-1B, TN), with a path toward employment-based permanent residency support considered case by case.
If your background spans large-scale renewables, SCADA, controls, or project engineering in the energy space, and you're looking for a role with real technical ownership, reach out for more details.

- $140k–$180k base salary plus competitive equity
- Remote-first with approximately 10–20% travel
- Join at a stage with real customers, production usage and revenue while still having significant influence over the product
Candidates must be based within North American time zones. Austin or San Francisco are preferred.
We are partnering with a rapidly scaling, venture-backed AI infrastructure company to hire its first dedicated Commercial Counsel.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a lean legal team and take ownership of the commercial legal function as the company continues to scale. You’ll work closely with Sales/GTM, Product, Engineering and senior leadership, balancing a high volume of sophisticated transactions with the opportunity to build the processes, playbooks and systems that support the company's next phase of growth.
The Role
- Own complex commercial and technology transactions from initial negotiation through execution.
- Partner directly with Sales/GTM to help close strategic enterprise customers while balancing commercial objectives with legal risk.
- Draft and negotiate enterprise customer agreements, SaaS/API and technology licensing agreements, infrastructure and capacity arrangements, strategic partnerships, supplier/procurement agreements, data/content licensing and other commercial contracts.
- Build the commercial legal function's infrastructure, including templates, negotiation playbooks, contracting processes, CLM and AI-enabled legal workflows.
- Advise cross-functional teams on issues involving privacy, data protection, IP, AI, security and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Support sophisticated infrastructure and technology relationships involving cloud, compute, data centers and other strategic providers.
- Manage outside counsel and legal service providers as needed.
- Operate as a highly hands-on individual contributor while helping shape the longer-term commercial legal strategy.
What We’re Looking For
- JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Strong commercial and technology transactions background, ideally combining law firm training with in-house experience.
- Experience within a high-growth technology, AI/ML, developer platform, cloud infrastructure, SaaS or similarly technical business.
- Proven experience negotiating sophisticated enterprise technology transactions across both the buy and sell side.
- Strong understanding of SaaS/software licensing, APIs, IP, privacy and data protection.
- Experience partnering directly with Sales/GTM, Product and Engineering teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to personally execute the work while simultaneously building the function around you.
- Commercially minded and able to make pragmatic decisions in situations where there isn't an established playbook.

- AI/ML or developer infrastructure
- Model, content, data or open-source licensing
- Privacy and cross-border data matters
- Hardware, supply chain or procurement transactions
- Building a commercial legal function during a period of significant company growth
- Implementing CLM, contracting automation or AI-enabled legal workflows

You'll have the opportunity to build the commercial legal function from the ground up, work directly with senior leadership and play a meaningful role in how a rapidly growing AI company sells, partners and scales.
